Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Pediatric Emergency Department at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a Full-Time opportunity working Nights with a commitment of 36 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are 7:00 PM-7:00 AM.

The Wolfson Children’s Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department is dedicated exclusively to the care of infants, children, and adolescents. Registered Nurse, Job Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care to the critically ill pediatric population utilizing all aspects of the nursing process.
  • Administers medications per hospital policies and procedures.
  • Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement
  • Educate patients and families to their disease process and plan of care
  • Interact with physicians and other departments within the hospital
  • Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
  • Act as the patient advocate
  • Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities

Experience Requirements:

  • 3-5 Years Experience in Clinical Specialty
  • 1 year Emergency Nursing Experience Required

Education & Credential Requirements:

  • Associate of Science in Nursing Required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course Certification (TNCC) Required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification Required
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required

Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel; coordination of care provided by ancillary services• Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care• Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care• Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.Certification- ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs• PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED.
