Job Summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Revenue Cycle Referral Coordinator to join our Total Access Program team at Baptist Southbank Plaza in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time day shift opportunity.

The Total Access Program helps patients navigate the financial clearance and referral process so they can access the care they need in a timely manner. The Revenue Cycle Referral Coordinator works closely with patients, physician offices, physician teams, and insurance companies to obtain required referrals and authorizations while ensuring eligibility, benefits, and financial clearance requirements are accurately addressed and documented.

Revenue Cycle Referral Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

• Obtain referrals and prior authorizations for physician, imaging, rehabilitation, infusion therapy, radiation oncology, and surgical appointments for both physician and facility services.
• Work directly with patients, physicians, physician teams, and insurance companies to facilitate timely authorization and referral processing.
• Verify patient eligibility, benefits, prior authorization requirements, and other financial clearance requirements in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Obtain required authorizations and referrals within established timeframes to support timely patient care.
• Accurately document referral and authorization status, verification information, and financial clearance activities in the appropriate systems.
• Identify and resolve financial clearance issues and escalate concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Maintain knowledge of the healthcare services and processes associated with the assigned area of support.

Revenue Cycle Referral Coordinator Experience:

• Less than 1 year of medical office experience. (Required)
• Experience with insurance verification, referrals, prior authorizations, or financial clearance preferred.

Revenue Cycle Referral Coordinator Education & Credential Requirements:

• High School Diploma (Required)
