Job Summary
The Strategist, Internal Communications is responsible for developing and implementing internal communication strategies supporting a wide range of subject matter and providing communications counsel to leaders and team members across Baptist Health System. The Strategist will provide all necessary internal communications support to assigned key business partners, with a special focus on supporting Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building strong relationships with employees and leaders at every level of a large, complex organization, including working directly with senior executives.
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of one day a week in our downtown Jacksonville office location.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication strategies that foster engagement, inform and inspire team members, build trust, and support our mission, organizational culture and strategic objectives.
- Provide communication expertise to support enterprise-wide or facility-specific change management initiatives.
- Develop, write, edit and distribute compelling internal communications content across multiple channels, including intranet and other digital platforms, newsletters, executive messages, signage, announcements, videos, talking points and FAQs.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify communication needs, target audiences, key messages and appropriate timing.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Wolfson Children’s Hospital leadership team on communication best practices, culture-building efforts, and employee engagement strategies.
- Monitor and analyze communication metrics and team member feedback to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies.
- Contribute to crisis communications planning and execution when needed, including during adverse weather events.
- Collaborate closely with the Public Relations, Marketing, Creative Services and Social Media teams to develop integrated strategies for major initiatives.
- Contribute as needed to external communication efforts such as social media posts and Baptist Health’s digital newsfeed.
Education Required
Bachelor of Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Related degree
Experience
5+ years experience in corporate communications, employee communications, executive communications, and/or human resources communications required. Experience in health care preferred.
