After an extensive nationwide search, Baptist Health has named Sarah C. Sanders, MBA, as executive vice president and chief consumer officer (CCO), effective today, September 8, 2025.

Sanders will lead all marketing, communications, digital strategy, advertising, community impact and engagement initiatives aimed at strengthening the connection between the health system and the communities it serves throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. As CCO, she will drive projects that enhance the patient experience and ensure all communication and outreach strategies reinforce Baptist Health’s reputation as a trusted, community-focused and patient-centered health system that delivers compassionate, high-quality care and services.

“Sarah is an innovative and mission-focused leader with a remarkable ability to get to the heart of a community’s health care needs,” said Michael A. Sanders brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in marketing and communications within health care and academic medical environments. She joins Baptist Health from University of California, San Francisco/UCSF Health, where she served as vice president, chief marketing and communications officer for the top-10 rated regional academic health system with seven hospitals. During her tenure, she developed a new brand strategy to strengthen how the health system connected with its consumers, led a steering committee responsible for identifying and prioritizing technology investments that enhance the patient experience and designed and implemented initiatives to establish UCSF as the top choice for the most advanced care. Sanders is returning to Jacksonville, having previously led marketing and communications strategies for Nemours Children’s Health, which provides pediatric physician services at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

“It’s a privilege to join an institution so deeply rooted in the community and trusted by generations of patients and families,” said Sanders. “I’m looking forward to strengthening these connections so that we can continue to meet patients where they are, providing guidance and care that truly fits their needs.”

Sanders was educated in New York, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the Roy H.
