Excellence in care and culture: Baptist Health honored with national awards for outstanding patient and team experiences

Press Ganey Human Experience (HX) awards recognize top 5% of health care performers.

Jacksonville, FL.

Baptist Health’s longstanding commitment to elevating experiences both for its patients and team members has been recognized by Press Ganey, a national leader in health care consumer and workforce engagement. Baptist/Wolfson Children’s Emergency Center Town Center and Baptist/Wolfson Children’s Emergency Center Oakleaf each received the Guardian of Excellence Award® for Patient Experience while Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center earned the Guardian of Excellence Award® for Employee Experience.

The 2025 Press Ganey Human Experience (HX) Awards Program recognizes health care organizations that set the standard for excellence across the care continuum. They consistently elevate experiences by displaying outstanding performance in patient and consumer experience, workforce engagement, clinical quality and safety. According to Press Ganey, the program “celebrates organizations that translate compassion into measurable outcomes – demonstrating what’s possible when insight drives action.”

The annual Guardian of Excellence Award® honors the top 5% of health care performers over a one-year period.

Patient Experience

The “Patient Experience” category recognizes the best of the best in patient satisfaction in the health care industry. The recognition is based on patient feedback on designated survey measures such as the likelihood to recommend the center to others, teamwork displayed by staff and overall care rating.

“Providing great care means putting people first, particularly in an emergency,” said Tammy Daniel, DNP, MA, RN, NEA-BC, executive vice president and chief nursing officer of Baptist Health. “We know all too well that a visit to the emergency room can be overwhelming, and our team members excel at providing compassionate, people-centered care that helps patients and their families navigate these stressful situations.”

Employee Experience

“Employee Experience” designations are based on data taken from team member surveys that measure an organization’s success at building a culture where employees feel valued, connected and empowered. Recognizing that an empowered and engaged workforce is a direct driver of exceptional patient care, Baptist Health continues to expand its support for initiatives that promote well-being, positive work environments and professional growth. The health system’s achievements in this area also recently resulted in being named one of “America’s Greatest Workplaces in Health Care” by Newsweek.

“Teams who feel supported and connected to a greater purpose deliver care that strengthens both patients and communities,” said LeeAnn Mengel, BSN, MBA, vice president and administrator of Baptist MD Anderson. “Our team members’ shared commitment to their patients and bringing an end to cancer is reflected in every decision and action they take.”
