Ed Hubel, FACHE, joined Baptist Health in 1996. He became Baptist Medical Center Clay interim hospital president in July 2023 and became hospital president in January 2024. Dedicated to quality, Baptist Clay received an 'A' rating in patient safety from the Leapfrog Group in its first year of eligibility and was voted "Best Medical Center” by local residents.

Prior to that, Hubel was president of Baptist Medical Center Nassau for seven years. Under his leadership, Baptist Nassau received an 'A' rating in patient safety 14 consecutive times and was named a "Top Hospital" by the Leapfrog Group. Hubel received the highest service designation, the ACHE Distinguished Service Award, from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

Hubel has been with Baptist Health since 1996. He previously served as assistant administrator of operations, surgical services administrator, patient care operations director, and service-line lead for Baptist Health Orthopedics. Prior to health care, he was in the aviation industry.

Hubel is board certified and a fellow of ACHE. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Columbia Southern University. He is also a fellow of the Advisory Board. Hubel's commitment to community service is as strong as his dedication to health care. He serves on the Clay County Chamber of Commerce board and volunteers with numerous Clay County not-for-profit organizations. He is a mentor for the Boys and Girls Club and mentors future health care leaders through the ACHE, local colleges and health organizations.

Hubel and his wife, Kristie, and their golden doodle, Lilly, reside in Fleming Island. Beyond his professional commitments, he is deeply passionate about servant leadership, faith and community. To maintain a healthy work-life balance, he enjoys reading, sports, fishing, music, and journaling, which provide him with relaxation and inspiration.
