Job Summary
Baptist Health is seeking to add an Emergency Department Technician to our Emergency Department at Baptist South in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time, night shift opportunity.
The Emergency Department Technician assists Registered Nurses with patient care and daily healthcare needs. Responsibilities include supporting activities of daily living, maintaining a safe patient environment, collecting lab specimens, monitoring intake and output, and documenting in the electronic medical record. The technician works under the supervision of an RN to help ensure quality patient care and efficient Emergency Department operations.
Emergency Department Technician Job Responsibilities:
Assist RNs in the Emergency Department with the care of patients and their healthcare needs, including activities of daily living.
Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Collect and properly handle laboratory specimens.
Monitor and document patient intake and output.
Complete accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support quality patient care and efficient Emergency Department operations.
Education & Credential Requirements:
High School Diploma Required
Associate of Arts/Science Preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
FL licensed EMT or CNA Required-DOH
