Job Summary

Baptist Health is looking to add a highly motivated and skilled Laboratory Information System Coordinator to join our LIS team working atBaptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a full-time, day shift opportunity working Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

This candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed specification documents for new builds and modifications to existing systems. They will collaborate closely with Beaker, Clinical Informatics, Information Technology, and Project Management teams to support and execute key projects. This role also involves coordinating and conducting validation studies to ensure all systems meet regulatory and compliance standards. The LIS Coordinator will actively participate in Laboratory Performance Improvement Teams and provide ongoing LIS support and guidance to all laboratory sites within the organization, with occasional travel across the network as needed.

As a Laboratory Information System Coordinator, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • The Lab IS Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to managing, reviewing, designing, configuring, testing, validating, and supporting all areas of general laboratory.
  • Coordinates testing, Analyses and interprets data.
  • Acts as resource person, resolves problems and instructs others and maintains system upgrades.
  • Will work closely and support the Baptist Health Laboratory staff.
  • These tasks include Training medical technologists for minor troubleshooting of lab system, lab instruments, printers, and scanners.
  • Participates in development of procedures, methodology and makes recommendations to improve unit efficiency.
  • This position will be heavily involved in IS projects, testing, and execution with onsite go-live support.
  • This position will also be involved with after-hours support and on-call support for lab related issues with heavy IS involvement.

A Clinical Laboratory Technologist license within the State of Florida is required.
