The Manager of Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering is a vital leadership role responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the organization’s cloud, data center, and infrastructure systems. This leader combines deep technical expertise with exceptional people management and customer service skills to ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions that empower clinicians and healthcare providers to deliver exceptional patient care. In this role, the manager leads the Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering team in developing and maintaining enterprise cloud environments, data center operations, network systems, storage platforms, and server virtualization. They collaborate closely with cross-functional departments, including clinical and operational teams, to align technology solutions with organizational goals and enhance service delivery. Working in partnership with Enterprise Architecture, this leader implements and optimizes scalable and secure enterprise networking, storage, and virtualization environments while ensuring projects are planned and executed efficiently, on time, and in accordance with organizational standards.
The Manager of Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering maintains high levels of system availability, performance, and security across all infrastructure components while providing technical guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities for team members. They also work closely with Enterprise Architecture and Information Security to develop and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices for infrastructure management and security. This role manages vendor relationships, evaluates new technologies, and negotiates contracts to ensure cost-effective and high-performing solutions. By staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies, the manager proactively identifies opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. Acting as the primary escalation point for infrastructure-related issues, they ensure timely resolution and minimal disruption to clinical operations. Manager of Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering, you will be responsible for:
- Responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure and implementation and design of hardware and software. Monitors the performance of systems.
- Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user needs.
- Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
- Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis activities.
- Manages professional employees and/or subordinate supervisors.
- Has accountability for the performance and results of a team or multiple teams within own area of specialization. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. The timeframe for objectives is typically annual in nature. Decisions and problem solving require the application of subject matter expertise and a firm understanding of the organization's policies and procedures.
- Provides technical and subject matter guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers. Baptist Health Information Services is actively seeking a manager for the Systems Analysis and Platform Engineering team.
- The Systems Analysis and Engineering Manager should be capable of work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis activities and is directly manage professional employees and team leads. This role requires a highly motivated leader who emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and a desire for continuous improvement.

Experience
- Over 5 years of Information Technology Experience Required
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, with a focus on cloud computing, networking, storage, and virtualization preferred
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud preferred
- Experience leading and managing the Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering team to develop and maintain enterprise cloud solutions, data center operations, network operations, storage systems, and server virtualization preferred
Experience working with Enterprise Architecture and Information Security to develop and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices for infrastructure management and security preferred
Experience managing vendor relationships, evaluating new technology solutions, and negotiating contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement preferred
Strong technical knowledge of enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs), data center operations, storage solutions, and server virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar) preferred
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud preferred
License and Certification
- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) Preferred
- Cisco Certified Network Associate Preferred
