Job Summary

Baptist Health is currently looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our Laboratory team at Baptist Nassau. This is a PRN, Day shift opportunity.

This candidate will be working in our Laboratory, located within our Baptist Nassau campus. This candidate will be handling and processing specimens within the laboratory and should have experience with specimen management. This candidate must have excellent customer service skills as they will be working with other healthcare professionals and patients and have comprehensive computer skills as well.

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing a variety of clerical and technical duties associated with the pre- and post-analytical handling of laboratory specimens and results.
  • Communicating laboratory results and responding to specimen-related questions from physicians and various other caregivers.
  • Collecting blood specimens for routine and special laboratory procedures.
  • Utilizing computer functions.

Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Education Preferred

Associate's Degree

Experience

  • Less than 1 year Phlebotomy Experience
  • Specimen Processing Experience

License and Certification

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician Preferred
