Job Summary

Baptist Health is currently looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant III to join our Anatomic Pathology department at Baptist Medical Center. This is a Full-time days shift opportunity working primarily 7:30am to 4:00pm and 3:00am to 11:30am as needed

The Collection and Accessioning department is the section of the laboratory where specimens are received, sorted, entered into the Laboratory Information System, labelled with barcoded labels and processed.

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant III, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing a variety of clerical and technical duties associated with the pre- and post-analytical handling of laboratory specimens and results.
  • Communicating laboratory results and responds to specimen-related questions from physicians and various other caregivers.
  • Collecting blood specimens for routine and special laboratory procedures.
  • Utilizing computer functions.

Experience Requirements:

  • Less than 1 year Phlebotomy Experience
  • Specimen Processing Experience

Education & Credential Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Associate's Degree Preferred
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician Preferred
