Baptist Health is looking to add a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in our Nuclear Medicine Department at Baptist Beaches, which is located in Jacksonville Beache, FL.. This is a PRN opportunity to work various - as need shifts. At Baptist, Our Nuclear Medicine Technologists are critical in assisting physicians evaluate organ function, detect disease, and sometimes treat certain medical conditions by performing diagnostic imaging and therapuetic procedures using small amounts of radioatice materials (radiopharmaceuticals). Our Nuclear Medicine technologists are responsible for operating imaging technology to track the radiation within the patient’s body. Their duties include but are not limited to, starting IV's, preparing patients for a scan, adminstering radioactive isotopes, and processing images for the radiologistThis is a PRN opportunity working varied shifts.

This Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for the following:

  • Performing high quality diagnostic procedures via specialized cameras (SPECT scans) with common studies being cardiac, bone scans, renal scans, thyroid, lung, & whole body.
  • Knowledge of State of (and adherence to) Florida rules and regulations in regard to Radiation Control/Radioactive Materials.
  • Protecting patients, self, others from unnecessary/excessive radiation exposure.
  • Complying with mandatory education and health requirements.

Education Preferred

Associate's Degree

Experience

  • Customer Service Experience
  • Radioactive Material Experience
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations
  • Experience working in a hospital setting

License and Certification

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Required
  • Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine ARRT (N) Required
  • Certified Nuclear Medical Technologist (CNMT) Required Or
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR) Required
  • Licensed Nuclear Medical Technologist Required
