Position Overview
We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP)Section of Surgical Oncology to support the. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in oncology and surgical specialties.
Responsibilities Include:
- Patient population: Providing care for patients with malignant and complex conditions of the gastrointestinal tractskinsoft tissues (including liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and stomach),, and (including melanoma and sarcoma)
- Inpatient care:
- First-assistant in the OR (robot, laparoscopic, open cases).
- Rounding on patients in the acute post-operative phase who are admitted to the hospital for surgical oncology and colorectal surgery
- Post-operative wound care and pain management
- Timely collaboration with consulting physicians
- Coordinating discharges from the hospital
- Evaluation of new consults.
- Outpatient Care: evaluates new and existing patients in collaboration with staff physicians, as well as a multidisciplinary team, completes outpatient documentation in a timely fashion, and performs clinic procedures as applicable.
- Hours: Monday – Friday
- Shared night and weekend call: home call for service during the week, and weekend call with inpatient rounding and OR coverage for emergency cases.
