Baptist Medical Center is looking to hire an Office Specialist for our Southbank campus. This is a Full Time Day shift opportunity working Monday - Friday.

Job Summary:

Provides business services for patients and the healthcare system. Duties include patient registration, processes mail daily, posting charges and payments, telephone protocols and assisting patients as needed.

Are you friendly, organized, and ready to help patients and families have the best experience at our office? We’re looking for an Office Specialist I who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and keeping things running smoothly.

In this role, you will work with patients, doctors, nurses, and teammates to help with appointments, payments, medical records, and more. You’ll also have the exciting chance to become a certified TMS Healthcare Technician — with training provided!

As an Office Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and polite way. Answer phones, make reminder calls, and help patients with questions.
  • Be willing to learn new tasks, understand HMO/PPO insurance rules, and assist with billing alerts and insurance updates as needed.
  • Schedule patient appointments and help set up special testing for bariatric patients.
  • Help with faxing, copying, scanning medical records, ROI’s, and assisting patients with medical record requests.
  • Post payments and update patient accounts in the electronic medical record system. Collect ROA’s, co-pays, self-pay payments, and other money at the time of service.
  • Get patient records ready for the next day’s clinic visits by verifying patient demographics and insurance information to include billing alerts, updating patient information, and pharmacy details.
  • Work with the team on referrals, prior authorizations, and tracking orders to keep the office running smoothly.
  • Be dependable, problem solver, communicate well with doctors and coworkers, and complete tasks on time without needing constant supervision
  • Learn to use our TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) equipment and help patients during treatment (training provided).
