Job Summary

Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a detail-driven Oncology Data Specialist to join our remote team. In this full-time role, you’ll be responsible for tracking and abstracting clinical data for oncology patients, ensuring accurate reporting to national cancer registries. This position plays a critical role in supporting quality initiatives and advancing cancer care.

As an Oncology Data Specialist, your responsibilities include:

• Accurately abstract and interpret clinical data from patient medical records to identify and record cancer diagnoses.

• Track oncology patient data throughout the full course of care—from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up.

• Input complete, high-quality data into national cancer registries and internal databases.

• Maintain a consistent workflow of abstracting 5 cases per day (25 cases per week) from a provided suspense list.

• Support quality management initiatives in collaboration with Baptist MD Anderson Oncology Leadership.

• Utilize multiple data sources to ensure comprehensive and accurate patient case tracking.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain compliance with cancer reporting standards.

• Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential is required to be considered for this position.
