Job Summary

Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel; coordination of care provided by ancillary services. Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care. Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care. Serves as patient advocate and responsible for nursing care in Newborn Nursery and Post Partum units including, but not limited to, caring for the antepartum patient, high risk post partum patient and the mother/baby couplet.


Education Required

Associate's Degree - Nursing

Education Preferred

Bachelor's Degree - Nursing

Experience

  • 1-2 years Medical Surgical Nursing Experience
  • Newborn Nursery Experience
  • Mother/Baby Nursing Experience

License and Certification

  • Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
  • Registered Nurse Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (RNC EFM) Preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification Preferred
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required
