SharePoint Administrator, Engineering Services, hybrid, Baptist Medical IT Data Center
The SharePoint Administrator will be responsible for SharePoint Online and on-premise environments, ensuring seamless collaboration, reliability, and data integrity across the organization. This includes managing permissions, configuring advanced security settings, organizing site collections, and maintaining associated databases to support both business continuity and compliance objectives. Conduct regular system maintenance, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact operations. Implement updates, patches, and enhancements to keep the platform secure, current, and aligned with evolving organizational needs and Microsoft best practices.
This individual will configure, deploy, and manage SharePoint solutions, workflows, and document libraries designed to automate routine tasks, streamline communication, and centralize knowledge management. Leverage the Microsoft Power Platform—including Power Automate and Power Apps—to design custom workflows, forms, and applications that extend SharePoint’s native capabilities. Utilize the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) to build and maintain modern web parts, interactive pages, and dynamic dashboards that provide actionable insights and improve the overall user experience. The SharePoint Administrator will work collaboratively with cross-functional business units, department leaders, and IT teams to gather requirements, define business processes, and translate operational needs into scalable SharePoint solutions. Provide end-user support, training, and documentation to ensure adoption and maximize platform utilization. Serve as the primary point of contact for all SharePoint-related initiatives, ensuring consistent governance, adherence to organizational policies, and alignment with long-term digital transformation goals. Through a combination of technical expertise and stakeholder collaboration, continuously enhance SharePoint’s role as a strategic enterprise tool that promotes efficiency, transparency, and productivity across the organization.
SharePoint Administrator responsibilities:
- Designs and develops primarily Internet/web pages, applications such as e-commerce and content-driven websites. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements applications using a variety of languages and platforms such as Java, C, C++, C#, Python, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, Scala, Objective-C and Swift.
- Develops proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate user interfaces (UI) that consist of graphics, icons and color schemes that are visually appealing.
- Ensures that applications are compatible across multiple computing platforms and browsers.
- May require familiarity with streaming media concepts and techniques, including digital video and audio codes such as H.264, MPEG-4 and FLAC.
- May also involve responsive web design techniques Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Solves complex problems. Works independently, receives minimal guidance.
- May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
