Staff Accountant, Baptist Southbank

Job Summary

Baptist Medical Center is currently hiring for a Staff Accountant to joing our Finance and Accounting Team at our Southbank Plaza location here in the Jacksonville, FL area.

As a Staff AccountantBaptist Health’s Southbank Plaza at, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Your week will include managing fixed assets and work-in-progress updates, reviewing and processing capital requisitions, and ensuring monthly closing schedules are met. You’ll prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts payable and materials, and compile monthly statistical and sales tax reports. You’ll also support audit preparation and reporting related to property, plant, and equipment. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Finance and Accounting team to provide timely, accurate financial data that supports informed decision-making and the continued growth of Baptist Health.

As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining fixed assets for Baptist Health, to include all monthly PPE progressions and WIP updates.
• Acting as gatekeeper for all capital requisitions to ensure they meet capital criteria and update capital spending report monthly.
• Ensuring that monthly closing schedule is adhered to and prepare and enter assigned JE's monthly.
• Preparing monthly AP and materials reconciliations.
• Reviewing and preparing all monthly statistics reports; submit required stats to Decision Support by established deadlines.
• Preparing and submitting sales tax payable on a monthly basis.
• Printing and downloading all Robot reports for IHDNFB/+/- 10% reports and AR aging monthly.
• Completing all required audit workpapers pertaining to PP&E for Baptist Health.
