Gifted fundraiser named chief development officer for Baptist Health Foundation

Atlantic Beach resident Kerrie Slattery, executive director of development for Wolfson Children's Hospital and Baptist Neurological Institute, is being promoted to vice president and chief development officer for Baptist Health Foundation, effective Jan. 1, 2018.

In her new role, Slattery will assume executive leadership of the fundraising arm of Baptist Health, a locally governed, not-for-profit health system, which supports and enhances essential programs and services at its five hospitals along with Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center.

"I'm excited to build on the success of the Baptist Health Foundation, which was created 32 years ago to advance charitable giving for the health system's mission to serve patients, their families and the community's health care needs," Slattery said. "My goal is to bring continued growth and purpose to our work in the years ahead."

Slattery has served as executive director of development for Wolfson Children's since December 2015. Previously, she served as senior development director for Wolfson Children's from 2012 to 2015. She began her Baptist Health career in 2007 as a director of development for Baptist Medical Center Beaches. Prior to that, Slattery had a successful career in banking and business, and started in the non-profit field as the founder of Foster Hope and then the executive director of Art with Heart in Healthcare. She has a master's degree in public administration from American University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in criminal justice and public service.

"She is a top-notch development executive who will ensure our fundraising work doesn't skip a beat."

Slattery succeeds Pierre Allaire, who is retiring as vice president and chief development officer for Baptist Health Foundation at the end of the year and will maintain a transitional role through March 2018, following the culmination and celebration of the health system's most successful comprehensive campaign in its history.
