Baptist Health is seeking an Armed Security Officer to join our Protective Services Department at Baptist ED Town Center.

The Armed Security Officer's primary function is to assure the day-to-day safety and security of patients, visitors, and employees by patrolling and monitoring the medical center properties. As patient safety and experience are top priority this growing team is currently implementing new technologies such as metal detectors.

Shift Details: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Responsibilities:

• Reporting any unusual circumstances, and take appropriate corrective actions
• Insuring the protection of individuals from harm by monitoring for safety hazards
• Providing escort services
• Responding to unsafe situations
• Enforcing hospital parking regulations
• Assisting individuals with obtaining help for vehicle problems
• Responding and taking appropriate action in all instances where the imminent threat of human life is occurring

Requirements:

• Certification Requirement: Class D and Class G licenses within 90 days of employment
• Experience Required: 5 years Law Enforcement Officer or DOD/Military Police experience

• Driver's License Required

Location Overview

The Baptist Town Center Emergency Center is located at the St. Johns Town Center.  It is a new 16-bed emergency center that houses two emergency centers under one roof - one for adults and one for children.  Conveniently located near the intersection of Interstate 295 and Town Center Parkway, the Baptist/Wolfson Children's emergency center is a true hospital ER, staffed 24/7 by board-certified emergency medicine physicians.  On-site technology includes ultrasound, CT scanner, X-ray, a full service laboratory and telemedicine consultation services.
