Baptist Health is currently hiring a Fulltime Cytotechnologist to join our respected hospital laboratory team at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. This ideal day shift opportunity offers weekday hours from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

In this Cytotechnologist job, you'll work independently in our Anatomical & Pathology (A&P) lab, performing essential duties including specimen collection, processing, staining, and preliminary microscopic evaluation. You’ll also support clerical, safety, and quality improvement initiatives alongside a small, collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in specimen processing and some background in microscopic interpretation. At Baptist Health, cytotechnologists play a critical role in early disease detection and accurate diagnosis, directly impacting patient outcomes. This Cytotechnologist must be licensed in the State of Florida before hire.

As a Cytotechnologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining expertise in collection, processing, staining and microscope interpretation of cytologic specimens.
  • Performing computer, clerical, safety and quality improvement functions as defined in the laboratory general and section specific policy and procedure manuals.
  • Intstructing new employees, Cytotechnologists and Cytopreparatory technicians.
