Baptist Health is currently looking to add an Interventional Radiologic (IR) Technologist to our Special Procedures Department at Wolfson Children's Hospital, located in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time days opportunity requiring call coverage. At Baptist, Our IR Technologists are highly trained radiologic technologists who work closely with interventional radiologists. The role of our IR techs is critical in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures by ensuring the imaging equipment, patient positioning, sterile field, and technical support are all properly managed.
As an Interventional Radiologic (IR) Technologist you will be responsible for:
- Operates imagning equipment and performing high quality radiographic images. (including fluoroscopy)
- Functions as member of a team performing interventional procedures.
- Maintains sterile techniques and assist with passing wires, catheters, & other tools.
- Preparing contast media and injectors.
- Monitoring vital signs and documenting procedural notes and materials used.
- Promotes good will among co-workers and other departments, and has a positive, comforting demeanor with all patients.
- Is compliant with mandatory education and health requirements.
- Identifies, prepares, administers, and documents medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner in accordance with state, and federal regulations or Lawful institutional policy.
