Job Summary
Baptist Medical Center is currently looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at Baptist Medical Center South. This is a PRN, various shift opportunity working in the MOB2 Lab.
This Medical Lab Assistant II will be working in our Outpatient Laboratory. This candidate will be performing speciment processing and phlebotomy procedures. Phlebotomy experience is required. This candidate must have excellent customer service skills as they will be working face-to-face with patients every day. This candidate should have comprehensive computer skills as well.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, you will be responsible for:
- Performing a variety of clerical and technical duties associated with the pre- and post-analytical handling of laboratory specimens and results.
- Communicating laboratory results and responds to specimen-related questions from physicians and various other caregivers.
- Collecting blood specimens for routine and special laboratory procedures.
- Utilizing computer functions.
