Job Summary
Baptist Health is looking to add a Medical Laboratory Scientist II at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville to join our Float Team! This is a PRN, opportunity. This position will be based at various Baptist Health locations.
This Medical Laboratory Scientist must be comfortable working at up to 2 campuses and 1 free standing ED. The Float team at Baptist Health is a dynamic team of professionals making an impact in the world of laboratory. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist II, you will be responsible for:
- Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
- Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
- Supervised by Director and Section Supervisors; can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision.
- Can supervise MLTs as General Supervisor and serve as Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
- May instruct new employees and students.
- License Note: Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure rules.
Experience:
- Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician (2-3 years preferred)
- Experience working in a laboratory setting
Note: Eligible candidates must not have been employed with Baptist Health within the last 12 months.
