Baptist Medical Center MD Anderson is currently hiring for a Full-Time Days Oncology Surgery Coordinator to join our BMDA Patient Access Services Department at our Baptist MD Anderson location here in the Jacksonville, FL area.

Shift Details: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

This is a two person team that works closely with surgeons and patients to schedule surgeries. The Surgical Coordinator manages multiple, different systems and calendars in a high pressure environment and ensures that schedules run smoothly. The Surgical Coordinator works closely with surgeons to understand their unique styles and preferences on timing.

As a Oncology Surgery Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

• Facilitate accurate, efficient and courteous access to services for Surgeons: including scheduling of Surgeries in iQueue. Scheduling Pace, Pre-op, Post-op, and Clearance appointments.
• Coordinating special equipment in the OR.
• Scheduling from radiology queue in EMR for Imaging as well as coordinating with outside surgeons and assists for surgery.
• This includes, but is not limited to: communicating with referral sources, managing data entry by documenting on the Surgery worksheets and within SmartSets.
• Completing message request for surgeons, updating PMD with surgery information, handling the provider schedules by blocking clinic and updating all the surgeons calendars.
• Completing reschedules and cancellations for all surgeons by contacting the appropriate patients, canceling in iQueue, reschedule or cancel all coordinated appointments.
• Registering patients, verifying insurances, securing codes & authorizations, running estimates and advising patients of their financial responsibility, collecting co-insurance and deductibles for the pending surgery for both the hospital and the physician entities (HB & PB).
