Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate, caring and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery Clinic at Baptist MD Anderson located in Jacksonville, Florida. The Head and Neck team is an exceptionally busy group, providing highly specialized care to high acuity patients. This is a highly functioning, effective team that works closely together to provide outstanding care in a fast-paced environment. The Clinical Nurse leads, organizes, and prioritizes work of the patient care team. Assures continuity of care as patients transition across the continuum of care. Practice autonomously within the scope of professional nursing practice. The RN must be able to multi-task and coordinate care in a dynamic environment while maintaining professional demeanor.
Responsibilities of an Outpatient Oncology Registered Nurse in the Head and Neck Clinic include:
- Working very closely with high-skilled Medical Assistants to ensure in-clinic procedures are accomplished at and a high standard of care is maintained.
- Providing professional nursing assistance to physician during office procedures.
- Accurately assesses and monitors patient condition, initiating appropriate nursing intervention.
- Submits required procedural documentation for patient records.
- Ensures proper sterile technique, practices universal precautions.
- Perform independent Nurse Visits to evaluate post-operative patient progress, perform patient education, remove intricate sutures from the mouth, head, and neck area.
- Lead multidisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient appointments through chart preparation including collection of medical records, collaboration with providers to manage appointment schedules, EMR and phone message triage, patient education and evaluation of patient progress along the continuum of care.
- The Head and Neck RN must be able to communicate quickly, assertively and professionally during a fast-paced clinic

Associate's Degree - Nursing
Education Preferred
Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
Experience
- 1-2 years Nursing Experience Required
License and Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) Preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
- Licensed Registered Nurse Required
