Breastfeeding 101 Main Content

In this class, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant or Certified Lactation Counselor will teach you the most important concepts needed to get breastfeeding off to the best start and be successful. There will be plenty of time at the end to answer questions.

Other topics include:

  • Babies feeding cues
  • Proper latch and position
  • How long and how often to feed
  • Signs that baby is getting enough
  • Breast care and comfort
  • Storage of breastmilk (during in-person classes only)
  • Breastfeeding for working mothers (during in-person classes only)

Since family support is so important, we strongly encourage dad, grandmother or another support person to attend at no additional charge.

Expectant parents are encouraged to register for classes early, as space is limited.
