What is a virtual visit?

During a virtual visit, also known as online care or telehealth, you’ll see your doctor face-to-face by using the video camera on your phone, tablet or computer, all from the safety and comfort of your home.

During the confidential, secure video chat, your doctor can:

  • Conduct routine wellness checks
  • Diagnose an illness or injury
  • Help you manage a pre-existing condition
  • Prescribe medication, if needed

Primary Care

See your primary care provider from the comfort of your home. Our family physicians, internists and pediatricians can review your symptoms, recommend treatment and can even send a prescription to your nearest pharmacy.

Prepare for Your Virtual Visit

Get the most from your appointment by following these helpful tips:

  • Watch the "Virtual Visits Made Easy" video on this page to see how it works.
  • Review the instructions included in your appointment invitation email you receive. We also provide Zoom setup instructions.
  • Test your camera, speakers, and network connectivity beforehand.
  • Set the camera, whether built-in or external, at eye-level. If you are using a phone or tablet, set it someplace steady so the doctor can see you clearly.
  • Choose a well-lit room free of noise and distraction. Do not sit with a window behind you, as this significantly decreases visibility.
  • Jot down any questions or concerns you may have.
  • If you have them, have these items handy during your appointment: medications, thermometer, blood pressure cuff, and flashlight, penlight or smartphone flashlight.
