Surrogacy Delivery at Baptist Health

Yes, our hospitals and staff are very experienced. We do have a surrogacy policy in place for hospital personnel, but it is an internal document.

It is up to the surrogate to decide who can be present for the delivery. Generally, there can be up to 4 people in the delivery room (view our maternity visitor guidelines), but we will respect the surrogate’s privacy and wishes. Please note: guidelines may vary by location.

Typically, there is only one person allowed in the OR for a C-section. Any special cases are at the discretion of the surrogate, OB provider and anesthesiologist. Please note: guidelines may vary by location.

The baby would be listed under the intended parent(s)' last name and the two bands would be given to the intended parent(s).

Intended parent(s) can come at all hours. No other visitors after 9pm. Please refer to our maternity visitor guidelines. Guidelines may vary by location.

• Formula: The hospital has formula onsite, but the brand of product depends on what is available. If you have a specific brand in mind, you may need to provide your own.

• Circumcision: You will need to organize and discuss circumcision with the OB. We do not coordinate this in the hospital.

In the NICU, only the intended parent(s) and up to 4 designated visitors are allowed. Only intended parent(s) and the grandparents are allowed to visit alone. Any other visitors would need to be accompanied by a parent (IP). If they need a higher level of care, they would probably go to Wolfson Children's, but it depends on census. In some cases, international IPs or domestic IPs might be in the area for several weeks before returning home with their baby(ies). Our team is happy to help refer a pediatrician for their initial follow up appointments prior to their return home.

We will want to coordinate coverage or self pay for the deliver and care of the baby. Please make sure to complete our form and our team will work with you to arrange payment information appropriately.
