Job Summary

Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville is currently hiring for an Inpatient Hospital Coding Supervisor to join our Inpatient Coding team. This candidate will assist the Manager in coordinating daily operations ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely coding of Inpatient records to optimize revenue. They will also be responsible for orientation and training of new staff. This is a hybrid position.

The Inpatient Coding Supervisor Responsibilities include:

  • Assists the Coding Manager in supervising, and coordinating daily operations of coding, monitoring work queues, including post initial coding to facilitate timely completion of encounters.

  • Identify issues and escalate, perform root cause analysis and track for resolution.

  • Perform regular training and education and serve as back up to QA Auditor to perform Quality Audits and post DRG reviews.

  • Must have excellent understanding of ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG methodology. Works closely with CDI and other Clinical departments to provide coding guidance.

  • Assists with reconciling the time worked and scheduled PTO to appropriately schedule staffing.

Education and Certification Requirements:

Education/Degree Required:

High School Diploma

Degree Preferred:

Associate of Science

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Required Or

Certified Coding Specialists - Physician-based (CCS-P) Required Or

Experience Requirements:

3-5 Years Coding Experience Required

1-2 years Leadership Experience Required

1-2 years Outpatient Coding Experience Required

1-2 years Medical Billing Experience Required

Knowledge of regulatory protocols. Required
