Job Summary

Baptist Health is looking to add a Medical Billing Charge Integrity Analyst to our Revenue integrity team at Baptist Metro Square. This is a Full-Time, Remote, Days opportunity.

The Charge Integrity Analyst is tasked with working out of Epic work queues to identify missing charges or modifiers. You will be asked to perform root-cause analysis to identify the source of these errors, then provide full-circle communication related to your findings. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in Epic, have a strong coding background, and a high attention to details. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Revenue Cycle, experience handling claims, and be able to work independently.

As a Charge Integrity Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing, coordinating, and implementing charge capture initiatives and processes to improve revenue management and revenue protection.
  • Discover the root cause of revenue issues and develop corrective action plans and provide education on those plans.
  • Working closely with assigned departments and ensuring work queues are being addressed and offering support, guidance, and education as needed.
  • Evaluated existing workflows for efficiency and effectiveness to recommend changes as needed.

  • Discovered revenue issue root cause and recommend corrective action

    plans.

  • Assists with the implementation of new systems or procedures related to charging integrity activities.

  • Reviews denied charges by investigating reasons for denial and taking appropriate corrective actions.

  • Communicates with other departments to resolve customer inquiries regarding billing issues.

  • Analyzes and solves DNB edits and errors in multiple work queues in EPIC

Remote Candidate must reside in the following approved states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West virginia, Wyoming.

Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Education Preferred

Bachelor's Degree

Experience

  • 3-5 Years Experience with CPT/HCPCS Codes or Charging Required
  • 3-5 Years Coding Experience Required
  • 1-2 years Third Party Billing and Payment Methodologies Experience Required
  • 1-2 years Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations Required
  • Epic HB/PB Revenue Integrity Experience Preferred
  • Experience reviewing medical records and utilize VitalWare for appropriate assignment of CPT codes, revenue codes, modifiers, MUE edits, and any-related devices pertaining to procedures performed. Preferred

  • Experience resolving and coordinating revenue cycle issues (registration, coding, billing, customer service, and chargemaster) quickly and consistently with goal to continually improve the revenue cycle.

License and Certification

  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Preferred 
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Preferred 
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Preferred 
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Preferred 
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Preferred 
  • Certified Medical Administrative Specialist (CMAS) Preferred 
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Preferred Or Licensed Practical Nurse Preferred
