As a mental health provider myself, I am often underwhelmed by the providers I interact with as a consumer. That has not been the case with Leslie Barstow. She inspires a lot of faith in her knowledge but still manages to be wonderfully warm and quirky in her own right.

The doctor only tried to call me back once and left me the general phone number, so I could not call back. I was on a work call and now am not sure if I will hear back at all. Also, it took several months to get the appointment. Baptist doctors are getting harder and harder to see in a timely manner.

Dr. Barstow was very precise but she took her time to ask the appropriate and needed questions to get to an understanding of my medical and emotional needs and what is going on. She showed that she really cared about my health & showed she wants to find the best treatment plan that works for the both of us, not just about what she wants to do and move on to the next patient.

I didnt Feel as if my concerns were addressed. I came to the clinic for help, i clearly stated what has worked in the past and what effects this had on my mental health as well as how i benefited from it. Instead i was Given a partial hospitalization referral as well as an opioid addiction treatment plan? I dont Have an addiction nor do i need to be hospitalized. Because of this treatment i will not be returning to this physician.

The most important and essential thing I liked about my experience with Dr. Leslie was that she was attentively listening and asking questions. I really felt like she heard me and could see what I am going through and didn???t judge me off the bat or try to throw a bunch of pills or change at me. She was informative & precise about my treatment plan and that was reassuring given my bad experiences previously in the past.
