My daughter???s Psychiatrist wanted to change antidepressant, using the same class of drugs that made her the worst. She wanted to experiment more, and planned to maximize the number of tries to 3 drugs and 3 therapeutic failures before using the medicine that we are using now, that fortunately is giving us and my daughter the greatest outcomes. She said she is following the practice guidelines. When my daughter was the worst on 15 mg Lexapro, and I requested for change, what she did was increase the dose to 20! That move alone doubled the side effects, and doubled the depression. I explained to her that there was no logic in continuing a failed approach, what she did was MAXIMIZE the dose instead. Md wanted to protect her license. My daughter vomited once, and she proceeded to diagnose her with eating disorder??? and that she can???t prescribe Wellbutrin on somebody with eating disorder. She told me to fix the situation with a nutritionist and I did. But none of that mattered because she wanted to maximize 3 failures first, 3 more experiments before she can prescribe Wellbutrin, which has demonstrated wonderful positive effects on my daughter. Pls read, if it matters to you, ???The serotonin theory of depression: a systematic umbrella review of the evidence??? by Moncrieff et al. In summary, this is all a guessing game. Nobody knows, and nobody is sure about antidepressants. Your guess is as good as mine. Escitalopram made my daughter the worst and Wellbutrin afforded huge positive outcomes. The doctor did not want to work with us. I could have executed a liability waiver but she clearly just wanted to protect her license. If you have somebody willing to work with us, we will appreciate it. The Wellbutrin was prescribed by the inpatient Psych doctor.

As a parent I am extremely unhappy with how difficult it has become to be involved in my child's care. Access to health records, even when given written permission from my child (as my child has filled in office forms to give me access numerous times) and somehow I still cannot gain access. Paying you is difficult... because I have to continually pay as a guest and for unclear charges. Also my child complains about being asked about her sexuality, gender, and pronouns, all the time, as she expresses its irrelevant. She is asking me to take her else where for care.

Train the billing department better. They give inaccurate billing information that can be very costly. Then they won???t take responsibility for their mistake which means the patient is now financially responsible for that mistake. Very, very poor business practices. Otherwise, the doctors are fantastic. However, since the billing department is so poorly run, I cannot recommend your office in good faith.

Family oriented environment. While no one wants their child to end up in the hospital (especially this department) they make it as enjoyable and personable as possible. I only wish they had a bigger department so that more children from within our community can come here for inpatient care instead of the other options in this town which can not even begin to compare in care to Wolfson???s. We are FOREVER grateful to Wolfson???s Behavioral Health unit!

They were very kid friendly and my son gets anxious and mad quickly and they were absolutely awesome. They let him speak which is a big bonus, it calms a kid down to be able to have a conversation instead of being told scary things in a rush. Super awesome.

I like the provider. The problem I have as your patient/customer is the gap between BBH operations and the provider. There is a disparity between the customer service representative, the provider and the patient. We are not all on the same page. I???ve had conversations with the doctor and have confirmed next steps then when I talk to the representative he or she does not have the same information and we are at a standstill. Because the doctor doesn???t personally return phone calls and has a representative call on her behalf it feels like the game of telephone. Nothing can get resolved in a timely manner because of the go-between. I empathize for the representative because they are told only brief information from the doctor and then get overwhelmed by information from the patient. It feels messy and laborious. When we were patients with Dr DeLaHunt at Nemours his team was prompt and empowered. Dealing with BBH makes me Want to request the supervisor. I don???t recall having this type of miscommunication and frustration as I do now with Baptist Behavioral Health
