I visited there last week and the ladies at the front desk were goofing around and I sat for 15 mins before being called up to the desk. Then I was told I was late and she would have to see if I could even get in to see the doctor. I felt very unappreciated as a "customer" and I was partially late sure, but the 15 mins I sat waiting put me almost 30 mins late. THe Ladies were very busy hanging up decorations at the desk. If I didn't have a great relationship with my doctor, I would not come back.

I was recently at the Lane Ave location for my annual follow up visit with my doctor who I have been seeing for years and I love!???Normally they are a little behind but on this visit, I had a late appt scheduled. However I arrived 15 mins earlier. When my doctor was done, which was right at 5pm I was told to checkout and he would see me in 6 mos, good report! Lo and behold as I am walking out, I see everyone at the front desk leaving. I asked are y???all leaving, they said yes. I said, well who is going to check me out?. The reply was call us in the morning, we close at 5pm! I was totally shocked! If this is Baptist policy, they need to rethink this!???most unprofessional thing I have ever heard of!!! I have a relative that works for a BPC and has been there for years and I asked her, do you all let patients leave without being checked out and she said absolutely not, she was shocked! If this is the Lane Ave BPC new policy it reflects on poor management/supervision and I would NOT refer anyone to this location.

The staff is excellent but when I come in for a 230 appointment and I don't see the doctor until 350 that's a problem and plus I only see you for minutes so I am just not understanding y does it take so long is he over booking his schedule well if so thats a problem people make appointments for a reason we all have lives thats y we make appointments you be better off being a walking if your going to wait hours

Our doctor of many, many years is the best, but very popular. Appointments are rushed and getting prescriptions filled has become a nightmare. I don???t know where the breakdown is???but we have spent a fortune on medications and supplies that are not ordered in compliance with our insurance policies. Phone calls between insurance and physician offices are never ending. Frustrating. Each blames the other.

The staff at Baptist Primary Care - Lane Avenue are efficient, curteous, and provide great assistance without unnecessary delays or wait times. From the front desk to Mona in the back, they are all willing to answer any and all questions with professionalism and great competence. Dr. Downey, my physician of over twenty years, is excellent in providing clarity to the foggy world of medicine with loads of patience and understanding. The facility itself is clean and quite comfortable, with great parking added in. I would recommend Baptist Primary Care-Lane Avenue to anyone interested in superior all-around medical care.

Dr. Downey has been a supportive and quality, care physician. He is always willing to go beyond the call of duty for his patients. No matter how he feels, he never raises his voice. He is always calm and relaxed in his tone of voice. I am so glad to be back home. Baptist Primary Care, with Dr. Jackson Downey and Mona is "home". There's no place like "home". Mona is still the sweet, gentle person she used to be, with a calm spirit and positive attitude. They don't realize how much that means to patients, when they are going through difficult times in regard to health and the negativity that is sometimes thrown at them in their lives. It means a lot to have a positive, compassionate experience with your healthcare provider and staff. Patients don't need the added stress of negative attitudes from their healthcare providers and staff.

Everything is a hassle. It took them 4 months to finally get my diabetes supplies ordered. I had to keep going to that office to beg them to order my stuff. Each person would tell me somebody else had to handle it. At the end of the 3rd month, I went in there and had to yell at people to get my order done. Totally ridiculous and my doctor doesn???t understand anything about how his office should run. I have been going there for 30 years and it used to be good. The last 2 years the quality of service has gone straight downhill.

I had an appointment with Dr. Downey and inquired about a certain prescription and the delay in getting it filled. I was told to access the portal to request a 3 month and an email would be sent to access the portal. I spoke to someone at the receptionist desk and she confirmed my email address, said she'd send it again (even though I never recieved one the first time). Now, 2 weeks later I still have yet to receive the email to access the portal. In addition, when I call to find out about it I'm put on hold for 30 minutes to an hour and can never get an answer.

The office follows COVID 19 safety procedures and makes check in very easy. Sometimes the check out representatives forgets to take the copayment. On my last visit, I reminded the associate to take my copayment. I would prefer my co-payment be taken at check out rather than receiving a bill.

The only problem I do have is when I have to give blood. I have to ask for the best one there per my doctor and they give me this 'not so nice' look. Ive been stuck 3 times and huge bruises afterwards and just not experienced enough. I may have small veins at times but the best don't have a problem. But as for Dr Downey and his staff, they are absolutely beyond wonderful. Clean office and I may have to wait at times but worth it.

I was under the impression that the Patient Portal was to make it easier to communicate with your provider and therefore responses could be accomplished within 24 hours. That is appearing not to be the case. About a month and a half ago I left a message with my doctor about having pulled my calf muscle (or so I thought). It took several days to get the response back that the issue was being turned over to another team to follow up. That follow up never occurred. Finally, after calling into my doctor's office an appointment was made for me to be seen regarding same. After waiting for the doctor for some time (he informed me that he was slammed that day, and I understand), he saw me for about 5 minutes, diagnosed the problem and gave me some exercises to do to fix the problem. I was greatful, but left with the thought that it took a month and a half to fix a five minute problem, during which I kept reinjuring the site. Just this week, I had an issue with a prescribed drug, as I was told by my pharmacist that the doctor didn't prescribe enough to get through the entire month. After speaking with Mona, Dr. Downey's assistant I was told that she would be talking to the pharmacist to see what is the issue. As of yet I still haven't heard back to see if the issue is resolved, or ongoing. I believe that I paying for a month's supply of the prescribed medication, but only receiving about 20-25 days at best. I am curious as to who resolves these issues when a patient is being consistently cheated of a full supply of their medications. Part of my concern is that my medical team is consistently being "squeezed" for time, and my fear is that at some point this will effect the quality of care that is being provided.

The lab workers were unprofessional, I'd never go back to them for blood work. And I wasn't able to go over all I wished to speak about with my doctor during my last visit. Also, it ridiculous not to allow at least one guess with the patient. That's a bit unreasonable.

It's very clean, professional people from the front door. Actually cares about the corona and was cleaning constantly. Dr. Downey was the best part. He listen to me, made me feel like he cares. Gave me a plan of action to get me feeling better and finally after almost 4 weeks of hell, I'm finally feeling better. Only wish I had found him sooner.

Before Covid seeing the doctor was a reasonable wait. The Doctors are fine but on my last visit I had to wait one hour and a half to see my doctor. I do understand new procedures are in place for covid but this is totally unacceptable. Hopefully this will not occur in the future. I hope you take my comments into consideration and make necessary changes.

I had a 10:30 appointment and did not see the Doctor until 12:00, I was given a sample rx but no needles for the injection pen. Very disappointed in the office.This is not the first time I have waited this long, but I can guarantee it will be the last. It is past time for me find a new doctor and office that values my time.
