From the Doctor:
I moved from my home town of Buffalo, NY to Jacksonville at the start of my residency at UF Shands-Jacksonville in the summer of 2010. My wife Casey and I welcomed our first child and it has changed our lives completely. My free time is enjoyed with my family, as well as playing basketball and softball with friends. Of course when the time is right, what doctor does not enjoy a round of golf!
Over my years of training I have come to realize that Pediatric medicine and preventive medicine are synonymous terms. A good pediatrician provides appropriate care from birth and on to keep patients away from disease, rather than treat them when the disease has already occurred. That is why I feel it so important to start with good newborn care along with anticipatory guidance and timely immunizations. With childhood obesity becoming an epidemic, early intervention with proper diet and exercise need to be at the forefront as a preventive strategy.
When I have time, I get involved in community projects such as providing school supplies to the less fortunate and food drives during the holidays. I am also passionate about child advocacy in the community.
