5 tips to curb road rage

We’ve all been there. You’re stuck behind a slow-moving vehicle traveling under the speed limit, while vehicles on your left are whizzing by like there’s no tomorrow. You can do one of two things in this situation:

  • Tailgate until the driver in front of you gets the message, or
  • Slow down and wait for an opportunity to pass on the left when it’s safe to do so

I know what you’re thinking. The latter is easier said than done, right?

But tailgating, leaning on your car horn or making angry gestures are all road rage and only adds fuel to the fire.

According to a recent study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, approximately eight million U.S. drivers each year engage in extreme examples of road rage, including ramming another vehicle or getting out of the car to confront another driver.
