About Me

I am originally from Upland, Calif., and love year-round warm weather, which is one of the reasons I decided to move to Jacksonville. I am a highly active person and enjoy outdoor activities such as going to the beach, hiking, and playing sports. My health is especially important to me, so I enjoy preparing plant-based meals and exercising almost daily.

My philosophy of care is emphasized around lifestyle medicine. I believe through a combination healthy eating, exercising, and mindfulness practices some of the common ailments that affect most Americans can be managed. However, I also understand that there are many barriers to health, and I feel that it is my duty, as a physician, to aid my patients in overcoming such barriers. I believe that one approach to breaking down barriers to health is going into those communities where access to health care is limited.

During my residency, my colleague and I started an Initiative where we screened for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and obesity and provided nutritional education at barbershops located in the inner-city. Individuals who did not have a physician were able to follow up with me and my colleague, and those without insurance were able to follow up a mobile clinic. Health is my passion and promoting it is something I will always strive to do.
