Job Summary

Baptist Health is looking for an experienced Operating Room Liasion to support our Main Operating Room and Central Sterile Services Department at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This position will be a full time days position at out Downtown Campus. This position is for the 11am-730pm shift. This position prefers both Surgical Technologist and Sterile Procesing Technician knowledge and expereince. 

As an Operationg Room Liasion, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Coordinates and oversees daily activities between the Operating Room (OR) and Central Sterile Services Department to facilitate efficient case flow.
  • Assists in projects and process improvement initiatives in compliance with policies and procedures, goals, objectives and initiatives.
  • Promotes customer service and satisfaction through training, education, and resolution of staff and physician issues and concerns.
  • Maintains knowledge of cleaning, assembling, packaging, & sterilization of instruments and equipment according to the IFUs, A.A.M.I, and IACHSMM current standards.
  • Demonstrates awareness of personal and work area safety at all times; using evidence based practices and complying with facility safety policies and procedures in carrying out duties includingthose for blood borne pathogens and communicable diseases.
  • Must keep knowledge current on aseptic techniques and basic microbiology sufficient to understand the ways diseases and infections are transmitted and the importance of clean and sterile supplies in patient care;
  • Attend training in new and improved sterilization practices and developments in the microbiology, bacteriology, and therapeutic practices as they affect the sterile supply operation.
  • Sterilizes OR instrumentation in the OR area.
  • *CRCST required within one year

Experience

  • 1-2 years Surgical Technologist Experience

License and Certification

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). Required
  • Certification Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Required Or
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Preferred
