Baptist Stroke & Cerebrovascular Center is the regional epicenter for advanced diagnostics and treatments for strokes, brain aneurysms and other cerebrovascular conditions in adults and children. Thanks to cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art facilities, our renowned neurosurgeons are helping to save lives and preserve quality of life for our residents of North Florida and South Georgia. Our treatment times beat national standards to help ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Our multi-disciplinary teams work together to provide life-saving care using state-of-the-art minimally invasive technology.
Baptist Health and Lyerly Neurosurgery were honored with Systems of Care Recognition awards at the 2017 International Stroke Conference. The charts below show how we treat stroke patients more quickly compared to the other 54 sites in the STRATIS study and a previous landmark SWIFT PRIME study.
Among the treatments used to help prevent stroke in patients who are at high risk due to carotid stenosis, a narrowing of one of the major arteries in the neck, are carotid endarterectomy and carotid stent placement. Our excellent outcomes for these treatments are shown below.

Center for Neurologic Emergency Medicine
Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville offers a specialized emergency department designed for stroke, brain aneurysms and other neurological emergencies. The center was
the first of its kind in Florida and is among a few in the country. Patients who experience a change in vision, vertigo, numbness, headaches and seizures are
diagnosed and treated by a team of emergency medicine physicians, neuro-radiologists, neurologists, and certified stroke registered nurses. The team is equipped with
expedited access to radiology images and laboratory testing to make rapid treatment decisions. Patients who require admission to our hospital are admitted to our Neuro
