Patricia McElroy Biography and Information
Patricia McElroy joined Baptist Health in October 2016. She serves as the System Administrator for Spiritual Care, attending to the embodiment of Baptist Health's Mission and Values throughout the system. Also, overseeing clinical chaplains on each campus, leading Baptist Health's Clinical Pastoral Education Program and Baptist Health Bereavement Services, as well as serving on Baptist Health's senior leadership team.
Before joining Baptist Health, Patricia served Catholic Health Initiatives Franciscan in Tacoma, Washington. She completed her clinical education training at HealthCare Chaplaincy in New York. At the same time, simultaneously conducted clinical work at North Shore University Hospital and studied intensive group theory at the Center for Group Studies in Manhattan. She has specialty training and certification in palliative care, medical ethics, group leadership, and trauma management.
Patricia earned degrees from Yale University Divinity School, Temple University School of Law, and Shippensburg University. She is ordained in the Presbyterian Church USA and is a member of the St. Augustine Presbytery. Prior to seminary and her clinical fellowship, Patricia worked as a litigator in Philadelphia for many years.
Patricia serves on the Board of Directors for Community Hospice and Palliative Care, OneJax, and is a member of Jacksonville's Rotary Club. An avid sailor and boat-lover, she is often found enjoying the sunshine at the Florida Yacht Club. A native of Philadelphia, Patricia lives in the San Marco neighborhood of Jacksonville with her partner and their two dogs, Birdy and Bodie.
