Everybody is very helpful and efficient when you check in to when you go back into the room to see the doctor! Dr Nemo very professional and very patient friendly. He tells you exactly what???s going on and what???s going to be done for you to understand they are very good about follow up really glad that he is my doctor and that he has a good staff working for him. Dr. Nema has cared for me for a year since my aneurysm. He is very patient, personable and an expert that I very much needed for my complicated illness. I am very lucky that he is my doctor. However, my discharge arrangements from Lyerly were pretty terrible. When I was discharged last January, it was on a Sunday, I had 3 days of meds and I had 23 prescription meds. Of course, I had no neurologist and was not referred to one. So I could not get new prescriptions. I finally begged my family practice Nurse Practitioner to help me. I had debilitating headaches, constantly, was unable to eat due to an eating aberration which caused food to taste like metal chips or chili peppers, so I was loosing weight every day. I had a referral to physical therapy, but no nursing care. I was unable to care for myself and my around the clock care was impossible for my 75 y.o. husband. My family stayed and helped, taking shifts. When they left, we had to hire private home health aides to allow my husband time to rest. I hope you can do better than this. I worry that this could happen again.

This was my first visit to Lyerly. I found Lyerly easy to work with and all staff were professional and kind. I was seen on time - I appreciate that!- and the PA was thorough and listened carefully to my information. The physician, Dr Amin, explained what was likely causing some of my symptoms and how the CTA would confirm the DAVF. The nurse called back in a timely manner to schedule the CTA.

Staff, doctors and all others involved with my visit were very polite. I was well taken care of, and did not have to wait long to be taken back to see the doctor. Also, those involved with my care were knowledgeable with my health concern. Things such as advice of what the doctor thinks would be best care was well explained. My parents and I had to travel 3-4 hours to Jacksonville for my care and will have other trips ahead of us. I am glad my neurosurgeon in Valdosta referred me to this facility and doctor.

I felt that the doctor grudgingly met with me and attempted to ensure that his meeting with me would be as brief as possible. I asked questions in attempts to get him to respond to me as a patient rather than an imbecile to no avail. He proceeded to again showed me an illustration of the artery system that was responsible for my head and neck issues. I am interested in possible solutions,not his repetition of the fact that narrowing of the vein on one side of my head was the cause of my problem. Is there current medical research regarding the issue? How prevalent is the problem ?

The doctor visits are informative and you feel comfortable talking about issues. The entire staff is interested in helping and they take the time to listen. It is easy to make appointments and the appointments run on schedule. The One problem is walking to the back of the hospital to get to their office if you have difficulty walking. There is no easy access to their building.

Your office staff was courteous and efficient. The day of my appointment everything went smoothly and on time. I would suggest that patients be informed that they can be dropped off at the main entrance while family members park their cars. It is a very long walk from parking lot P2 to Lyerly on the 11th floor for individuals who are not long out of the hospital and are unfamiliar with the layout of Baptist. Your waiting area is very pleasant and has a lovely view. It would be nice if seating could be arranged so that patients/family can see the view out the big windows.

In the past I tried to get an appointment to see Dr. Garcia about a problem with my neck. I couldn't get through to your office by phone so I took my time to drive downtown to try to get an appointment in person and was immediately blown off at the front desk. I was told I had to go through my primary care doctor and be referred by him before I could get an appointment. I didn't have a primary care doctor at the time so, of course, getting a referral by a primary care physician was impossible. At a later date I was hospitalised overnight and later informed that I had an appointment. I still have the problem with my neck. Maybe it shouldn't be so hard to get an appointment. BTW, the doctor and PA that I did get to see were fantastic. My issue is NOT with them, but with your scheduling criteria.

The paperwork is repetitive and extensively invasive - why does that need to be done for every visit? My appointment was for 10:00 AM, I was seen by the doctor at 11:10 AM. Three staff caregivers saw me within an easy 20 minutes. I can see being 15 minutes behind, but over one hour without and information by staff is excessive. When the medical tech took my blood pressure after 11:00 AM, it was 171/84!

From the Get Go when Sierra came to the lobby to bring me back for vitals, it was a pleasure and I felt in the best of hands, even though one does not usually relish a visit to the Neurosurgeon. The good doctor's Medical Assistant who talked with me about details of my Slip N Slide fall at home (Syliva?) was also very service oriented and lovely to work with. She was calming, reassuring, very conversant on head injuries and nontraumatic brain hemorrhages, and helped me understand the process on which they focus from beginning to end. Bravo!

Better preparation of the patient as to what they might expect. Other than the stroke, infection, death etc notifications, I was not at all told what to expect. Not all medical staff have been exposed to procedures. There were other things about my experience which I found very disturbing but will not elaborate here. The points are high for Dr Nima but I will never go through this experience again. ** 2 points for anesthesia

Your treatment of me from the beginning to end was completely shameful, useless, and unnecessary. Your recommendation of medical procedures for what I was there for was totally unnecessary and useless. Lies lies lies from the beginning to the end. I wouldn???t recommend your services or treatment for a stray cat. Will request my medical records transferred as soon as I can find competent neurologist in the area of my new residence. Disgraceful

I asked For Dr Savageau, as he was the neurologist my referring physician insisted I request. At first I was told I could see him. Then the appt was scheduled with another doctor. I accept this, but not the fact the staff member refused to explain why the change occurred. Parking and walking are hideous obstacles to the physically challenged, but that is not the fault of Lyerly. So far the work up for the PC is going well and I am very impressed with the depth of testing, but of course reserve final opinion based on what happens as a result. I am a retired surgeon (unknown to Lyerly) and do appreciate the care so far, as it does exceed expectations!

The entire staff was welcoming and made me feel at ease immediately. I was not happy about having to see a neurosurgeon to begin with and I was a nervous wreck. The doctor showed pictures of my scans and explained in detail to my understanding. There was a comparison of my 2009 scans and I had more understanding from this visit than anything in the past. I was in Baptist hospital (through the Emergency room) in November 2020 for a suspected TIA. I was under the care of your office. Your drs. wanted a MRI of my head, but they forgot to write the order. This caused me to be in the hospital an extra day/night. On 2/15/2021 (Monday, 8:15AM), I had a two hour MRA-Nova. I had asked how long the test would be before I arrived and the staff did not know. I have severe back problems and before the test was over, I thought I wasn't going to make it. Afterwards, I saw Dr. Nima in your offices who said the results weren't complete which I understood. He stated he would call me on Tuesday morning to let me know the results. No one called either Tuesday or Wednesday. I called 8:30AM on Thursday, no one responded that day. Someone called on Friday and said the results were in my favor. I never heard from Dr. Nima after seeing him in the office after the MRA-Nova. The issues are more pressing than these two examples, but clearly Lyerly doesn't care about its patients. There is no way I would recommend them to my family or friends, with many of those being in the Jacksonville Medical Community.

After my short hospitalization of having a stroke, Dr. Nina called me at home to explain things to me about the tests and diagnosis. His office staff then called me to arrange a follow-up appointment which I did. I recently was there for my first office visit and my appointment with him and his medical staff was excellent,. I left his office with a clearer understanding of my diagnosis.

I actually had two procedures. Dr Shaw, Vertebroplasty and Dr Nima for my cerebral aneurysm. Both are wonderful supportive physicians. Staff are very kind and willing to help clarify any questions I might have had. It was a very stressful time for me and my physicians ensured I was comfortable with my decisions.

When the patient is progressing favorably the doctor does not require to come in for a visit just to see the patient. I think this let the patient know that they should be cognizant of their medical condition. Understanding that we as patients need to contact their doctor when something change in their condition and not wait necessarily until the next scheduled appointment.

When I entered the ER at Baptist South last December, Dr. Nima knew exactly what was happening to me. He prescribed the medicine to prevent my stroke. I was transferred to Baptist Downtown. Dr. Nima and his team are the reason from a medical expertise perspective why my quality of life is what it is today. I am so thankful for everyone that had anything to do with my recovery.
