Maternity services update

Effective May 31, 2022, inpatient maternity services are temporarily paused at Baptist Nassau after the retirement of William McGrath, MD. Baptist Nassau is actively recruiting new obstetricians and is committed to resuming inpatient maternity care as quickly as possible. Until then:

  • All other Baptist Health hospitals in Northeast Florida are continuing to deliver babies and provide inpatient maternal-newborn services.
  • Care for expectant moms in Nassau County continues to be provided on an outpatient basis by Women’s Care Florida and other OB providers.

Baptist Nassau is looking forward to unveiling its $8.5 million maternity center renovation in 2023, which features large private suites where the baby will be able to “room-in” with mom, plus spa-like bathrooms, mini-fridges, and large windows for natural light that overlook a beautiful atrium.
