About Me
My husband and I enjoy traveling and are self-proclaimed foodies. We seek out new cultural experiences and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. On the weekends we enjoy teaching elementary Sunday school and taking our fur child Biscuit, a cavadoodle to dog parks and on long walks. We have one daughter who loves going to the beach, princess tea parties and all things outdoors! All three of us love everything Disney!
From the age of 3, I told my Grandmother I wanted to be a doctor and take care of sick people after visiting my late great-great-grandmother in the nursing home. My first job as a water safety instructor teaching swim lessons ignited my love for teaching, children and families. I worked as a medical assistant in college and learned how to connect with patients as people. In between medical school and undergrad, I worked in the ER. By seeing a high volume of patients, and talking to people from different walks of life, I learned the importance of understanding what motivates people and how that motivation affects their behavior, lifestyle choices and ultimately their health.
My philosophy of individualized care is to first understand my patients as people, know them and what they are walking through, and what factors limit them from achieving their optimal health, and how to tailor therapy accordingly. I enjoy treating pediatrics to geriatrics and prefer to treat the entire family. I treat my patients like they are members of my family, and I encourage them to accomplish their health and wellness goals while providing insight and education along the way. Helping people accomplish their own health and wellness goals brings me joy and long-term patient-physician relationships with families and individuals makes me happy!
