About Me
I was born in Belize, Central America, but moved to the U.S. for undergraduate studies in New Orleans after high school. In the course of my medical training, I have traveled extensively, even doing a year of clinical studies in Manchester, UK. This has given me a unique multicultural insight into my approach to patients. After completing medical school at St. Matthews, I moved to Jacksonville where I did my residency in internal medicine and fellowship in medical oncology at the University of Florida.
I take great pride in my personalized approach to patient care. For the majority of my patients, the diagnosis of cancer is the most devastating event they have faced. As such, I strive to be an advocate as we explore tailored treatment options together. I never forget that the trust placed in me is a privilege not to be taken for granted.
Giving back to the Jacksonville community that is also home to my wife and two beautiful daughters is important to me. As such, I have participated in the Test for Life telethon to raise awareness for colon cancer screening, as well as, prostate cancer awareness events. I also served as a mentor and advisor to young physicians contemplating careers in the field of medical oncology.
